I have never had any problems towing any of my trailers
have a 5X8 open trailer with 3 foot side boards that I load with fire wood and cruise on down the road.
This one pictured I moved my wife from Ohio to Boston and back with it, my nephew to Orlando, well two trips down fully loaded, hauled my Harley bagger in it at times. Towed great
I tow an 18' camper that is 3,400lbs. empty. One thing to remember about towing. Just because you can pull it doesn't mean you should. I used to pull a pop up camper all over the place (yard) with my riding mower. Would it be safe to pull it on the highway? No way. Stay below 5k and be safe.
I just towed a 5500lb trailer from Seattle to Phoenix AZ. No issues no problems. My truck has a tow package and a chipped ECU. Ive got 340 foot pounds of torque and a Suncoast TC so I had no issues.
I have towed several boats, a camper, and a utility trailer piled with firewood. The utility trailer was the hairiest since it had no brakes so I had to take it easy. Had almost a cord of cut and split cherry on it. I don't know how much it weighed.
Also, I dolly towed a mustang from Pittsburg Pa to Albany NY for a friend. Passed priuses and such on the interstate....haha.
