Well I installed the t-case and shifters.

Decided to change the suspension again. (for the third time) Started with a radius arm setup. Then changed my mind and went with a four link with a track bar, decided that the track bar was going to be in the way of the pinion brake. So I cut all of that off and started on a triangulated four link, which will also improve the angles on the links.

Before angle.

After angle.

Another round of parts arrived yesterday. Now the triangulated four link is mocked up.

I am much happier with the angles now.

This is what can happen if you don't tighten the torque converter bolts.:Stupid Me:

So your "helper" broke the torque converter..........ha.....(just teasing)

350 is a real good engine. Always liked them. Looking good.

Put the trans back in and now for some reason I have no reverse:pp:
So I pulled it back out............AGAIN.......... and since my shop has no walls or roof, I have not done anything because of the weather.

I don't know if I cut a seal lip or if it is a valve body problem. I'm having someone else look at it since I'm tired of pulling it. It was my first attempt at an automatic. ( I build semi truck gear boxes for a living)

Been busy today. I pulled the hub off, removed the studs that hold the spindles on. I countersunk the bolts on the spindles so I could flip the front hubs. Also installed new studs in the hubs. Put new knuckle boots on and debraked the rear axle.

this is what I started with

countersunk bolts

hub flipped and new studs

all bolted up

Yea I finally fixed the trans. The guy I let look at it just pressure tested the clutch packs and shimmed it to get the clearances a little tighter. Put it in and still no reverse. So I pulled the valve body and found a torn gasket. Installed a different brand shift kit and everything now works.

I was pleased with how everything worked on the first time out. Had no problems except a clip broke on the metal fuel line and it got too close to the header and vapor locked. Two zip-ties later it was fixed.

Was browsing through old posts and just saw this one, what kind of Carburetor is that? Brand and model?
