Jotm..

Please post up here if you all think there is a chance that this can run ok on here now? I know we are still new and not very active as of yet, but would it be worthwell to get this going?

If you don't know what JOTM (Jeep of the Month) is, it will be apart of the forum where users can nominate other users jeeps to be apart of a monthly contest where their jeep is voted the best of the 10 or 15 that get nominated for that month. When the nomiations are done, we start voting. The winner becomes the Jeep of the Month for that month and his/her jeep is displayed on the forums front page (www.jeepmilitia.com), will have a pic shown on the forums and also an image/logo under his or her user name showing that they won the JOTM of that given month.

Please let me know here if you would like to be apart of this or if you think I am wasting my time.

Edit: I see alot of people viewing this thread. I would really like your opinion on this even if its a "not a good idea" post. Just give me some input on it.

i like that idea, but only 1 jeep per month for the entire forum

instead of grand cherokee of the month or tj of the month

Well the only reason I see the per model theme not working is that there aren't many users here as of yet. If you were to look at it now, there seems to be more wrangler/liberity owners here then any other, so it could get repeative if there are only like 10 cherokee owners. If we do all jeeps in the beginning and when we get bigger, we switch to models.

Sounds good to me. Once the forum grows, I agree with the guys above that a per model setup would be best. Give more people the opportunity to win. Also, one thing I liked on some other sites was an almost badging system, where if theyd won any of the vehicle of the month awards, there was some medal or indication of that under their username from then on. Kinda a nice pride or rep system.

Also, I like the suggestion above for themes which will also help until the site has grown. Like July could be dirtiest jeep of the month or best scenery jeep of the month etc.

sounds like a great idea only one thing dose your jeep have to run . my jeep spends all its time in my shop.LOL But it never gets dirty.

Sounds good, but IMO keep it to 1 per month, or when it gets big enough then switch to 1 per month.

I say 1 per month, due to the fact that we are not that large yet. Also I like the idea of an overall JOTM rather then a model JOTM

I would like to see one jeep a month.

User's can submit their own vehicle with their own description and pictures of their jeep. The forum members can then vote and decide which jeep they want to be the JOTM. And members should only be allowed to be JOTM once a year...
