    Rear Axle Swaps

also, a popular full size swap is a ford 9' and HP44 out of older ford F-150's. same side drop (drivers side) as jeeps. with proper upgrades both can be built into formidable axles for strength. upgrades can be found everywhere for both axles and are pretty easy to source from a junk yard near you

    Rear Axle Swaps

mgiht want to add the exploder is the only real upgrade, as the ones in teh rangers and stangs were the weaker 27 spline version and not much of an upgrade over the d35. and they are a factory spring under so new perches must be welded on. 97+ also have disc brakes. also may want to note that...

    broke parts built XJ..slow progress

upper arms are only tweaked slightly, and as it is a trail only jeep, i am not overly concerned about them. rear leaves are my next major concern. might either build some new bastard packs or just man up and buy some off the shelf springs and shackles

    Gotta love broken parts

Tcase only took about an hour or so from start of taking old one out to new one in. the control arms took lik 2 hours simple because one bolt was froze in the bushing and with the UCA's bent the LCA's did not want to line up correctly. broken parts are always a good reason to upgrade. next is...

    Gotta love broken parts

last trip i wheeled the Heep, i got stuck at the badlands in attica IN. what started out as this stuck then adam (squeaky3) hooked to me to pull me out after many yanks trying to pull in through the hole, it was not goin anywhere. Demonstalker ended up pulling me out backwards the way i...

    my soon to be xj

some decent front and rear tow points are a must for sure. you can buy some, or make some. rear you can just get a hitch, front you need some plates that bolt to the unibody, factory hooks will not do if someone has to yank on it to get you out, like how you had to yank on my bumper last time...

    Dirty Turtle offroad park

dirty turtle is a great place, well from what i have seen of it. i used to ride ATV's there on a regular basis, back when it used to be Bucks Run MX park. for only being 270 acres, there seem to be alot of nice trails or nearly any capability range. once i get my junk back together, i am...

    Jotm..

sounds like a pretty good idea IMO. i think it would work well, allow people to show off their rides, and get people more involved on the site.

    roll cage or long arms?

well i am tall at 6'1", but other than that a rather small fella only tipping the scale at 170, i don't think the cage will take up that much room. an exo would be cool and all, but much more $$$ to build or have built and i don't need the body protection, i could care less about the sheetmetal.

probably just gonna use some of the same 1/8" plate i am using for my floor boards to build a small box. then make a little cup holder stand, use like a 3" hole saw to but holes in teh plate, use the part i cut out for the bottom of the holder, then weld on a few supports to hold it up, that way...

    broke parts built XJ..slow progress

well i was only gonna patch it, then i saw the scrap sheet steel at work, and just cut out what i needed whatever length it was, and it turns out with my pattern, i lack all of about 8" of covering the whole floor. so yeah, pretty much just replacing it all. trying to decide how much of the...

i am waitin on my tax check to actually order the cage. but i do have most other parts to fix it, everything but shocks. gonna try to get teh t-case together and in next weekend, and the control arm should not be to hard. so it should move under its own power by the end of next weekend i...
