That's cool that you've got that much going... I think mine is sitting right at 4" right now. I've had to replace a set of CV's since lifting.

4" is about all you can get away with while keeping the rest of the suspension/drivetrain stock... and even that's a little iffy when you factor in cv joint angles, premature wear on ball joints, etc. 6" can be done, but it requires more aftermarket components than just the lift... If you're...

In person, or in general? And define 'decent'... since there's only so little you can lift a KJ before you have to commit to a solid axle swap.

I love older CJ's... I can't wait to see your build on this.

I don't run the Generals, but my BFG AT's are horrible in soupy mud. They are fantastic anywhere else - rock, sand, dirt, snow, etc. - but pretty abysmal in the mud.

Despite the lack of SFA, I've found that the KJ's can do a lot more than I thought they could... a lot more than most people thought they could. It's by far the must fun vehicle I've had. I'll be running around in mine until it can't be resurrected. :D
