What other vehicles have you owned?

Can't complain with that- my dad used to run a garage/GM dealership in Cheshire, CT and grew up with all Chevy/Olds stuff in his garage, so most of the vehicles my house has seen were GM. Recently he got into Mazda club racing, but he still has a few of his GM cars. Used to own the '67 Le Mans...

The MJ I haven't had long enough to take a lot of pics. I'll take some more when it's not cloudy out- it's nothing special right now, but it's a project.

    Gears and Lockers

Gears all depend on what size tires you're running. I plan on running 4.56 with 33's, and that will give me some room to boost to 35's eventually. As to lockers: ARB is great, but there's something inherently wrong with paying almost a grand per axle to lock it. A member of my local club had...

    my soon to be xj

I'd say stick with the XJ when you're ready to get a Jeep, though.

Objects are closer then they appear..

It's the angle you're looking at it from. One of them is concave, and the other is convex. The light distortion off the passenger mirror makes it seem like it's further away.

Do it! They're so much fun. I prefer MJs solely because people think I chopped an XJ, and I love XJ styling.

    New KM2's!

These tires had so much hype when they came out, but they don't clean out fast enough and aren't good enough in snow to use up here. A lot of people I've talked to have had trouble balancing them- one friend got a set and one tire wanted almost 9 ounces in one spot on the wheel. Doing the pellet...

What vehicle does this wheel fit?

5x4.5 fits: Ford Explorers (the reason we love swapping 8.8's into Jeeps), Cherokees, Comanches, TJ's, Rangers, certain 2wd Toyota pickups, Bronco IIs probably more, but i had a list somewhere when i was looking for axles.

    cj5 VS cherokee

CJ: frame, aka easier to patch if it's got cancer spots, or even replace outright. XJ: unibody. Nothing wrong with joining the Square Headlight Club. I've owned my share of XJ's and as long as you keep things greased and clean the underside if it snows (salt) or you go through mud (the devil!)...

@Surf: Aussie. I have an AUssie set to go into the D30 as well. It's actually for a 27spl D35, but the Aussie lunchbox lockers are identical for D35 and D30. As to plans for the MJ: 97+ header panel and fenders, ZJ rear coils in the front for a 2-inch drop, XJ shackles for a 3/4" drop in the...
