    Gears and Lockers

^--- that. However, they're really durable. As long as they're not in a Turdy-Five

    Ongoing Window Regulator Issue....

X a big fawking 2. I worked in sales for a while with guitars, amps, and sound stuff, and from the other end of the phone, it makes life a LOT easier, and gets you what you need a lot faster, if you're civil on the phone. People who holler and make a stink are simply entertainment for the people...

    Ongoing Window Regulator Issue....

that would explain it. for giggles, this made me look at the recalls on my XJ... I was scared.:pp:

Just took my top off for the summer! Anyone else?

I take the doors off, impressive enough for an XJ without making it a Targa

    Ongoing Window Regulator Issue....

that's the biggest pile of BS I've ever heard. If it's a defect in the part and there's a recall out on it, you don't pay for it. hy are they making you pay for them?

    Tire size.

^---- THAT is the kind of suspension travel you'd ideally like.

    Tire size.

I believe you are correct. Rubicon flares were a bit wider on TJ's if I'm not mistaken, though, which may have led people to believe the same was true for all JK's.

    Tire size.

To whoever asked about the Rubi flares: They don't add any clearance. What the wider flares do is make it possible for Jeep to put the wider tires on without them being exposed past the fender. Many states allow tires to come a certain distance past the fender (2" in CT) but I'm pretty sure...

If you dislike the rules...let me know too.

^--- Werd. It's a Jeep thing, not just one model. I do agree that most contests do pivot on the looks, but a Quadratec Special could look really good yet be completely haggard underneath.

    More HP

In my experience, TB spacers are a pile of snake oil as well. They work with some older model throttle body fuel injection systems, but past the Renix era they do just about as much as trying to push the Jeep. Think about it this way: the idea of the spacer is to increase the internal volume of...

If you dislike the rules...let me know too.

IMHO, in the actual voting poll, the rides' tech sheets should be posted as well. This keeps the vote to the entire rig, and not just how it looks.

POLL: How do you like your Jeeps? Stock, modded, etc.

I'm gonna have to agree with AJ on this one. Whether it's "required" by the English dictionary usage of the word is irrelevant when it eliminates the need to make a non-reversible modification such as trimming fenders, air dam, bumpers, etc.

    Gears and Lockers

x2 on Powertrax. Full carrier lockers are too pricey. As to the gears, someone mentioned 4.10 sucked with 33's... It all depends on what you're doing with the vehicle. You can do swimmingly offroad with 5.38 to give you that little extra bit of power, but the pinion will be the size of a pea...

    Jeeps cherokee/grand cherokee rolling over

Rollovers like what you're thinking of were generally rigs over 6 inches of lift with no sway bars.

    Be Warned!!!

Us XJ guys run into a similar problem. When my T-case went Hiroshima on I-84, a small rubber bushing went flying out of the linkage. The part is no longer available from Chrysler, and even aftermarket companies don't make it. I was lucky enough to find a warehouse in Kentucky that had a...

What kind of oil should I use for a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

Purolators are good. I've always used Delco filters for a Ford E-van because they're a bit larger and let me fit an extra half quart. Usually add a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil every time, too.

I am dead serious about the filter.

Jeep grand cherokee. ABS light and Oil leaking from engine

Belt: check the tensioner pulley, tighten if necessary. Transmission: If it was an AW4, for future reference don't change the filter. Goes for a lot of other trannies used in Jeeps as well. Engine tick: If it's a 4.0, get used to it, their valvetrain sounds like a Freightliner. Pour a quart of...

    First Time Autocrossing

top speed was maybe in the low 40s. top speed didn't necessarily matter, slow cars can spank something quick by taking smooth lines. I beat an STi in course time because i was lighter, slower, and smoother.
