Rubi's have 4.10's. X's (Sports) and Saharas have 3.21 with the manual tranny or 3.73's with an Auto. 07's thru 08 or 09 with the tow package had 4.10's.

I gotta disagree about the engine. The 3.8 makes as much or more power throughout the entire powerband than the 4.0 it replaced. The problem with the JK is not the powerplant, it's the weight!!! It is a heavy beast, and the 4 door more so. Compound that with added weight of armor, bumpers...

Gears: 4.88's or 5.13's, Since you have a stick, I'd go with the 88's. Lockers: What is your budget? Are you doing front and rear? No matter what do the lockers and gears at the same time.

Really? Can barely hear the Super 44 in my KJ inside the cabin. Throaty sound outside, but not LOUD!

Welcome! Advise on the XJ. Try to find a 4 door model. Since the XJ is unibody, the 4 doors are a lot more rigid than the 2 doors. Stay away from 84-86's. 87-90 were slightly better (horrible Renix injection, weak Peugeot manual trannies),. 91-95's are good except for the Low Pinion front...

No problem, that's what the board is for. Like I posted above, I think the best bet is to build up the 30. Less than 2g's it can be pretty much indestructible.
